Objective
The player with the highest card wins the trick.
Variant played: Two players · tie with three face-down cards and one face-up card
- Players
- 2
- Duration
- 5–15 min
- Deck
- 52 cards
Flip both cards
Each player turns over the top card of their pile. There is no card choice in a hand: the top card decides the battle.
Higher rank wins
The highest rank wins the played cards. Ace is above King; suits do not break ties.
Recognize a tie
Two cards of the same rank trigger a battle, even if their suits differ. The pot stays in the center while the tie is resolved.
Break the tie
On a tie, each player places three face-down cards then one face-up card. If a pile is too short, fewer cards are placed. The new face-up cards decide the whole pot.
End the game
The game ends when a player has no cards left or when the battle limit is reached. Taking a pot can therefore put several cards back into an almost empty deck.
