Remove a pair of thirteen

Two accessible cards that total 13 may be removed together. Ace counts as 1, Jack 11, Queen 12, and King 13.

Remove a lone King

A King is already worth 13. It leaves by itself, provided it is fully exposed.

Match Ace and Queen

An Ace is worth 1 and a Queen 12. When both are available, they make a pair of thirteen.

Use the discard pile

Draw moves one card to the discard pile. Its top card can be paired with a fully exposed card in the pyramid. Two buried cards are never accessible.

Reveal the top cards

A card in the pyramid is accessible only after both covering cards have been removed. Remove a pair from the bottom to free the higher levels.

Recognize an impossible pair

The total must be exactly 13: two 7s total 14 and cannot be removed together. You must also check that both cards are accessible.
