Objective
Move already ordered groups of cards.
Variant played: No draw · exposed groups even if unsorted
- Players
- 1
- Duration
- 5–20 min
- Deck
- 52 cards
Play down in alternating colors
Play a card one rank lower and of the opposite color. A red 8 goes on a black 9; a black 8 is not valid.
Fill an empty column
An empty column accepts only a King, alone or at the head of a legal group.
Build a foundation
A foundation starts with the Ace and builds up in the same suit to the King. After A♥ then 2♥, 3♥ can be placed; 3♣ does not work.
Move an unordered group
You can move a face-up card together with all the cards above it, even if the group is out of order. Only the top card must fit the destination.
Reveal the column
Move the exposed stack to free a hidden card at the top of the starting column. There is no stock to supply more cards.
Reach the four foundations
The goal is four complete foundations from Ace to King. The tableau may remain messy while you build, but each foundation keeps its own suit.
